In ancient teachings, color was considered to be one of the three remedies for human disease along with sound and fragrance! Everywhere you look in nature there is color. And since we are part of nature, we ourselves are color at our very core. The human body, when receiving light from the sun, acts like a prism refracting light into eight visible color rays of the spectrum.
These rays are then distributed to the seven main energy systems, or chakras and then to the related organ systems. Every cell in the body emits a specific light or color unique to that organ or tissue. Also, each color has its own unique qualities, i.e. cooling or warming and is related to certain functions and emotional patterns. When the body is experiencing an imbalance, the vibrancy of these colors will be increased or decreased indicating the presence of dis-ease. Application of the correct color can help bring the body back into balance.
In Egyptian temples, rooms were built so that the sun’s rays would break down into the seven colors of the spectrum. Individuals would bathe in the room with the color that was needed for balancing.
Did You Know…The Ancient Egyptians had special rooms in their temples specifically dedicated to healing with color and sound. It is reported that Hieroglyphics on the wall of the Egyptian Temple of Denderah states: The sky and its stars are singing in you.
Vitamin D is not the only vitamin or nutrient that we receive from the sun-light. Food, in all of its beauty, is literally a breakdown of color providing one of the ways that we are able to receive the nutrients and colors we may be lacking.
